953fe189da Overall UNIX build system improvements: 
* Makefile header is now completely dynamic
* Absolute paths in (top_)?(src|build)dir and VPATH
  (fixes Tru64 support)
* VPATH does not contain variables anymore
  (fixes UnixWare support)

1aba4ea9d0 - Added additional DEFER macro. 
- First stab at porting the recode module. Still having problems
  with the _ex() functions, they core - why?
