I think the same composite key flattening scheme as is used with the DoctrineCache storage would work well for most of the storage providers. Might even be worthwhile to roll it up to Storage as the default behavior.

Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
